1. Six Key Areas: Comprehensive Theoretical Education

The orientation's six key areas included essential topics such as Chinese laws and regulations, school rules and safety education, campus life guidance, cross-cultural communication and cultural inclusion, basic emergency first aid training, and mental health education for international students. The college collaborated with the Wuxi Public Security Bureau’s Entry-Exit Division, the Wuxi Red Cross, and the university’s Student Psychological Health Center, inviting experts to deliver specialized lectures to ensure that the theoretical education on adapting to life in China was clear and thorough.

These included "Fire Safety and Evacuation Drills for International Students," "International Student Drum Circle," "Campus Orientation for International Students," and "Fun Sports Icebreaker Activities." These interactive sessions helped new students break the ice in a relaxed and enjoyable environment, allowing them to quickly integrate into their new community and fostering a sense of recognition and belonging to the university.

It not only allowed students to learn essential knowledge and skills for adapting to life and study in China but also provided opportunities for them to apply this knowledge in real-world scenarios through practical activities, enhancing their overall competence and adaptability.

Looking ahead, the College of International Students will continue to explore and innovate in the management of international student education, ensuring a smooth and supportive experience for all students studying in China.(College of International Students / Text: Cheer; Photos: College of International Students; Review: Wang Yong)
