Club brief introduction:

NUIST ITC is a student activity club founded in 2019 by three CIS students majoring in CST. This club promotes innovation and critical thinking to groom future tech geniuses of the IT industry so that they can make seamless transition in a wide array of roles.


Club Purpose:

Sole purpose of this club is to bring together group of people who are interested in technology so that everyone can improve themselves and grow together.

ITC aims to help students in many aspects such as, learning to program in various languages, video editing, photo editing, web designing and so on. In addition, we plan to hold various events like workshops, competitions and technology fair to motivate the students and enrich their practical capabilities. Moreover, we will also help students to register and mentor them for various competitions.


Financial management policy:

1. Club activities require the use of school facilities such as class room, lab room, conference room (big hall), mic device for communication, projector, and other school properties.

2. No financial assistance required for events such as: workshops, classes, courses, online competitions etc. taught and managed for free by the club members.

3. Financial assistance required to bring a speaker, to organize a big competition with participants from outside our university, decorations, to hire a trainer, to give certificates, to give prize, to buy equipment not present on campus and such similar cases.

4. The club will try to arrange sponsors in order to organize large scale events such as: competitions, tech fairs and so on where other schools will attend.

Club management policy:

The Club currently has 3 Founders/acting Leaders from CIS: one club president and two vice-presidents. These three founders are in-charge of three different sections of the club. Besides that, these three leaders are also responsible for all the official works, communication and events.

The CIS Leaders shall select leaders from Chinese students as well. The Chinese leaders will be in charge of the Chinese members. The Chinese members of the club shall cooperate with the Chinese Leaders and the Chinese Leaders will always keep the CIS Leaders updated on their progress, that way communication barrier between Chinese students and CIS won’t be an issue. All the activities shall be observed and looked after by the CIS Leaders. However, the Chinese Leaders may arrange some of the activities and events independently with the confirmation and in presence of the CIS Leaders.

There will be other positions to help the Leaders. such as:

1. General Secretary/G.S.: He or She will be the connection between members and leaders

2. Joint Secretary/J.S.: He or She will be in charge of logistics work and be a substitute for GS when required

3. Treasurer: He or She will be in charge of all the financial document work and keep tabs of financial related paperwork between the Club and University

4. Additional positions will be established when needed

Official WeChat group and Weibo page will be established. Official email is already created. Regular work meetings will take place in the presence of the leaders.

Club leader’s selection policy:

1. The new Club President will be appointed by the Faculty Advisor and current Club President. The new Vice-Presidents will be selected by the Previous Club President and the new Club President and approved by the Faculty Advisor.

2. As this club is technology related, to ensure the club president and vice-presidents are knowledgeable in IT, well aware in handling difficult situations and also a group of talented tech enthusiasts; these three positions will be selected by Faculty Advisor and previous Club President. Anyone will be able to apply for these three positions but after the interview procedure only the best will be selected for these three positions.

3. There will be a democratic vote for other positions like General Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer etc.

4. There will be a permanent member recruitment event in every semester. The students will fill in forms and there will be a short interview. The members will be selected judging by their interests, enthusiasm, ability and other aspects which can benefit the club and university.

Club members’ right and obligations:

1. Abide by the laws and regulations of People’s Republic of China (P.R.C.)

2. Comply with the rules and regulations of the club

3. Actively take part in various activities arranged by the club

4. Members shall not act on behalf of the club to the detriment of the club

5. Members shall not act on behalf of the club to conduct acts unrelated to the club, including but not limited to distributing religion and/or political belief

6. Members who want to quit from the club should provide a withdrawal application

7. Members have the right to be familiar with the club’s development and operation status, activity arrangement etc.

8. Members have the right to propose relevant suggestions for the development of the club

9. Members must actively work for management of various club events

10. Members have the right to invite anyone as long as it is approved by the leaders and the university

Lastly, the members are the most important part of any Student Activity Club. We the founders strongly believe a member’s safety is his or her most valuable right and must be ensured by the club. That’s why any kind of harassment is strictly prohibited. If any member is found harassing another member in any way, it won’t be tolerated and the Club leaders will file for an official report in the respective office in charge of the student. The harasser shall be strictly punished and justice shall prevail.
